Letter from our Headmaster on the death of Queen Elizabeth II

With the heaviest of hearts, I have to sadly announce the passing of our dear Queen, Elizabeth II. She is the only Queen to have reigned during the whole of my lifetime and has broken just about all of the records in existence for royal longevity.

During this time, she has shown herself to be a people’s Queen, close to all, able to sit down with the world’s greatest leaders in the same way as with groups of refugees. People don’t forget that, and the love that the British people and much of the world showed at the massive response to her seventieth year as Queen testifies amply to this. Always regal, she made the position look so simple, unblemished, without pretense and dedicated single-mindedly to others. Having set the bar at a new height, she will be deeply missed. Prince Charles was announced by the PM as next in succession.

Rest in Peace Dear Queen, you have a job extremely well done!

Long live the Queen!
