Students at St. George’s grow in a caring, bilingual British-Peruvian community, where visible learning, ongoing assessment and close family partnerships make progress clear.
Through our national curriculum and IB pathways, they build strong academic foundations, think critically and live the values of respect, responsibility and solidarity.
As part of International Schools Partnership, they gain genuine confidence using English worldwide and access rich global opportunities in leadership, innovation and personal growth.
Miss Minnie Nikolas founds San Jorge School on Cantuarias Street in Miraflores as a small English academy with just six students.
The school moves to Schell Street and officially adopts the name St. George’s. It becomes a bilingual school with a well-rounded educational vision.
St. George’s moves to its campus in La Aurora, Miraflores, welcoming students from Early Years, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School.
The Villa campus opens in Chorrillos, designed for students from Grade 5 to Grade 11, with modern spaces and an international outlook.
Our school joined International Schools Partnership - ISP, giving students a global network, collaborative learning opportunities, and the skills to thrive as true global citizens.
In March of this year, “Little St. George” opens in Surquillo for children aged 3 and 4, with spaces designed especially for them.
St. George’s is now a leading British school, with international partnerships and a comprehensive education grounded in values and a global vision.
In 1932, British educator Minnie Nikolas creates San Jorge School in Miraflores with the aim of teaching English to children from the neighbourhood. It begins with a mixed kindergarten class and six students. This small academy marks the beginning of an educational project that, over time, will become one of the most renowned British schools in the country.
With the move to Schell Street in 1936, the school takes on the name St. George’s and begins operating as a bilingual school. Miss Nikolas promotes an education that integrates core values such as respect, honesty and moral strength, laying the foundations of the school’s educational model.
On 1 April 1956, the school establishes itself on its new campus on Av. Montaigne in La Aurora, allowing for greater capacity and growth. It expands its provision across the three educational levels and consolidates itself as an institution. For a time, due to government measures, it once again adopts the name San Jorge de Miraflores.
With the opening of the Villa campus in 2011, St. George’s commits to modern infrastructure that enhances its educational offering. Sports fields, specialist classrooms and an environment designed for holistic development make this campus “the big school” for students as they grow within the community.
This was a transformative milestone for St George’s College, as it became a proud member of International Schools Partnership - ISP.
Becoming an ISP school was St George’s College’s gateway to a dynamic global network of world-class schools. It provided access to unparalleled opportunities for our students to collaborate across continents, engage in innovative learning projects, and develop the skills to thrive as true global citizens. The world just became our classroom.
Seeking to strengthen the foundations of learning from the earliest years, in 2025 the school opens its third campus: Little St. George, in La Calera. This space, designed for Nursery and Pre-Kinder, offers comfort, safety and an educational approach aligned with the institution’s innovative British identity.
With 94 years of history, St. George’s College has established itself as a benchmark in British education in Peru. Its commitment to innovation and international education is reflected in strategic partnerships with organisations such as Round Square, IB, ICA and Adecopa, which strengthen its academic and educational offering.

Students grow as critical, inventive thinkers. They question assumptions, analyse information and test different viewpoints before reaching their own conclusions. In class and beyond, they lead discussions, take part in debates and tackle interdisciplinary projects that connect ideas across subjects. By proposing their own solutions to authentic challenges, they learn to communicate clearly, collaborate with others and make thoughtful decisions in a rapidly changing world.
Students at St. George's College join global learning experiences through collaborations with the Independent Schools Cultural Alliance (ISCA) and international summer camps, and through activities such as academic competitions, coding projects, environmental initiatives and virtual partnerships with ISP schools worldwide.
Students experience real progress through visible learning and continuous tracking. They build portfolios, reflect on ongoing assessments and join follow-up meetings with teachers and families.
