Simon has been teaching and leading schools for the past 36 years in State, International and British schools in the UK, Papua New Guinea, Norway, USA, Poland, Qatar, Uzbekistan and China. He studied Physics at Bristol University and trumpet at the Royal College of Music in London. After a six year career as a professional trumpet player and teacher he retuned to teaching Physics. He has been Head of Science, IB coordinator, Director of Learning and Head of Secondary before accepting his first Principal post at Nord Anglia's Bilingual school in Guangzhou. As well as being our Executive Head of School, Simon conducts our school big band and parents choir, and also finds time to play with the "Big Band Ciudad de los Reyes" here at Miraflore's Jazz Zone. Simon has 3 children who live and work in the UK and a wife who is also a former professional trumpet player and who teaches music in a our lower Grades.
At St. George’s College, Simon leads the school’s strategic and academic vision, ensuring high educational standards and the strengthening of its international identity. Under his leadership, SGC remains firmly committed to academic excellence and the holistic development of its students.
Graduate in Early Childhood Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, with a specialisation in Learning Difficulties, Hearing and Language from CPAL. She has over 35 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, working as a teacher, grade leader and, for the past seven years, as Head of Early Years. Her career is distinguished by her commitment to the holistic development of children and the continuous improvement of teaching practices, supporting teachers in the implementation of innovative strategies that strengthen educational quality.
Ursula Alarco leads Early Years at St. George’s College with a vision focused on the wellbeing and integral development of children. She promotes learning through play, curiosity and creativity, creating meaningful experiences that inspire motivation and a sense of belonging. She is dedicated to the coherent implementation of ISP International Curricula, fostering innovation, teamwork and a safe, stimulating environment where the youngest learners build solid foundations for their future academic and personal success.
A professional with extensive experience in teaching in bilingual schools. She has taught Methodology at the National University of San Marcos and contributed to the Teacher Professionalisation Programme in the field of English. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for the Teacher Exchange Programme in the United States, an experience that enriched her knowledge of bilingualism and active methodologies. She has delivered numerous teacher training courses and workshops, supporting colleagues in improving their pedagogical practices.
Lucy Castañón has been part of St. George’s College since 2003 and currently leads the Lower School alongside a dedicated and professional team. Her passion for education and the holistic development of children drives her to provide learning experiences that strengthen bilingualism, values, and essential life skills. Guided by ISP’s international frameworks, she promotes a safe, motivating, and inclusive environment that inspires every student to give their best and reach their full academic and personal potential.
Verónica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, with over twenty years of experience in the educational field. She has held various academic and pedagogical leadership roles in bilingual and international institutions. She began her career as a teacher of English and German, and over time directed her work towards educational management, promoting institutional improvement projects, teacher development, and distributed leadership. Her approach combines strategic vision with human-centred leadership, focused on creating meaningful, collaborative learning environments that have a high impact on the holistic development of students.
Verónica has been part of the St. George’s community for over eight years, during which she has held academic leadership positions focused on continuous improvement and educational excellence. She began as Head of English and currently serves as Head of Middle School, leading teaching teams with a vision centred on learning, innovation, and student wellbeing. She has promoted the development of critical thinking, autonomy, and communicative fluency, as well as the strengthening of the transition between Lower and Middle School, ensuring coherent and challenging learning pathways.
Luis Sifuentes is a highly respected educator and consultant, with a career spanning nearly 40 years across various levels of education. He holds a Master’s degree in University Teaching and Educational Management. Throughout his professional journey, he has worked in secondary education and, notably, in higher education, as well as in corporate training, demonstrating his ability to apply pedagogical and management principles across multiple contexts.
A consultant and speaker within the International Baccalaureate (IB) community, he stands out as a Senior Examiner for the Digital Society course. His commitment to educational excellence in the region is further reflected in his role as President of the Association of IB Schools of Peru, from which he promotes and guides the implementation of the organisation’s international standards across the country.
Luis Sifuentes has been part of St. George’s College for 15 years, providing strong leadership throughout his tenure. In his current role as Head of Upper School, he plays a key part in shaping the education of students in the final two years of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
Since 2010, Sifuentes has contributed to the development of the IB programmes at the school, helping to enhance its academic standing. He also served as Coordinator of the IB Diploma and Career-related Programmes, where he was responsible for ensuring the quality and rigour of their implementation until last year.

Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialisation in English from the National University of San Marcos. She holds an international certification in Emotional Intelligence and has extensive experience in School Coexistence and Positive Discipline, leading socio-emotional support processes and initiatives to strengthen a positive school climate.
In her role, she leads the implementation of safeguarding and welfare policies and protocols, promoting safe, empathetic, and respectful environments across the school community. She coordinates preventive, detection, and response actions, provides guidance to students, families, and teachers, and facilitates training opportunities to foster a culture of care and respect. Her work is focused on the emotional and social development of students and the overall wellbeing of the community.
Reyna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón and is completing a Master’s in Health Psychology at Universidad Privada del Norte. She has broad experience working with children and adolescents in both clinical and educational contexts. Her training includes School Coexistence Management, Positive Discipline, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, and Language Therapy. She is skilled in developing intervention strategies to enhance reading, writing, and socio-emotional skills, supporting families and teachers through her work.
Reyna is part of the Psychology team at St. George’s College, providing emotional support and guidance to students across different levels. Her work focuses on identifying and addressing students’ emotional and behavioural needs, promoting positive learning environments, and fostering personal and social skills that enhance well-being. She collaborates with families and teachers to build an empathetic, caring educational community.
Camila holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Universidad de San Martín de Porres and is pursuing a Master’s in Psychopedagogy at Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR). She has extensive experience in Early Years, Primary, Secondary, and Higher Education. Her professional practice focuses on student guidance, family counselling, and teacher collaboration. She specialises in Learning Disorders, Positive Discipline, and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, promoting students’ emotional well-being and academic growth.
Camila works closely with families and teachers, providing continuous guidance and support through psycho-pedagogical counselling. Her integral approach seeks to create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment where every student can reach their full potential, respecting their individual learning pace, style, and needs.
Camila holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She specialises in Cognitive-Behavioural and Rational-Emotive Psychotherapy for children and adolescents and holds a Diploma in Neuropsychopedagogy. Her professional experience spans various educational contexts, where she supports students’ behavioural and emotional development through a global, culturally sensitive approach that values close collaboration with families.
Camila oversees Student Welfare for Years 5 to 7, guiding students through key transitions between Miraflores and Villa campuses. She fosters positive relationships, emotional balance, and healthy coexistence, while offering psychoeducational guidance. As the psychologist for Year 6, she supports both class and group processes, promoting a safe and inclusive environment that encourages students’ confidence and well-being.
Karla is an Educational Psychologist with 25 years of experience designing emotional and educational programmes. As a systemic counsellor and family therapist, she focuses on developing students’ socio-emotional and cognitive skills to foster a healthy community environment. She has led workshops on personal development, critical thinking, creativity, debate, and adaptive leadership. Her work promotes reflective learning and harmonious coexistence within the school setting.
Karla leads Student Welfare from Year 8 to Year 11, supporting the consolidation of positive relationships among students. She accompanies them in decision-making and social development processes, fostering a systemic approach that connects families, teachers, and the school community. Her work reinforces St. George’s College’s core values of coherence, respect, and shared responsibility.
